Today’s therapist is Phaedra Dyke.
She works at Westway Sports and Fitness in Ladbroke Grove, West London.
She was nominated by my good friend Sarah Buckenham.  Sarah practices and teaches yoga and is extremely fit. She takes good care of her body by having regular sports massage to keep herself in tip top condition.
Phaedra offers sports and remedial massage therapy, along with Sports massage and myofascial work.

1. How did you start your career?
I became a SMT as I have always had an interest in sport. I have been massaging in some shape and form since 1985 and every person is a different treatment!
I was working in middle management in the fitness industry (after 8 years in the beauty therapy industry) and reached my limits of people management, blocked toilets and holiday rotas, and wanted to get back to one-on-one , hands-on treatments.

2. Why and when did you decide to be a sole trader or company?
I wanted to be self-employed as I was tired of being told what to do!

image3.What makes your service special?
I try to keep updated with new research and techniques and endeavour to give the type of service and treatment that I would like!

4. Did you run a Christmas campaign this year?
No Christmas campaign was needed thankfully – I have more than enough work to keep me busy.

5. How do you like to keep in touch with clients?
I prefer liasing with clients by text – easier to reply in between clients!

6. Do you have any hidden talents?
I’m a qualified wigmaker, but don’t tell anyone!

7. What’s the oddest request you’ve ever had?
Oddest request – as a massage therapist? – not even going to go there….

8. Is there one piece of advice you’d like to share with us?
Make sure you give yourself enough down time – it’s easy to get lost in the workload but no one is going to look after your welfare like you can!

That’s all for now, don’t forget to come back tomorrow for more.
