Apart from the great speakers and content, Hair Removal Expo was also alot of fun! The presenters were experts and super entertaining and everyone was very friendly. I got chatting to lots of people, too many to feature all of them. Here’s a selection:

Tej & CoTej and Co

I met Tej at Janice’s presentation and was immediately impressed by her knowledge, passion and enthusiasm. She’s a total hair removal expert.

Tej set up a dedicated Hair Removal Salon in Stourbridge called Tej and Co 12 years ago in Stourbridge.

Tej and Co offer a comprehensive range of hair removal techniques. It means that each client can have the total confidence that they will have the exact treatment or blend of treatments that suit them. There’s a full explanation of each technique on her site.

  • Laser IPL – Hair removal with light
  • Epil-Pro – weakens hair with sound waves
  • Electrolysis, Galvanic Direct, Diathermy & Blend – weak electric current
  • Waxing

I asked why Hair Removal Expo was so important to her when she is already an expert in her field. She said that, to be the best, learning never stops and she loves hearing about new products and seeing demos. It’s a great chance to discuss what’s going on in the industy with other professionals too.

Tej treats men and women; at least 30% of her clients are men.  Being hair-free is important to many of her clients for religious reasons too and having the full range of tools to hand, means she can give them peace of mind.

She is very proud to have been selected to go to a reception at Downing Street to meet the Chancellor and celebrate Small Business Saturday on 6th December. I’m hoping she’ll have time to do a guest blog to tell us all about it!

I was delighted to meet Lilliane Caron, all the way from Australia.  The brand began back in 1979 when she wanted to use a superior wax in her own busy salon. (Which she still works in!) She set up Caron Laboratories to formulate her own and Waxxxpress is one of her many brands.

There were lots of free samples and everyone left carrying their distinctive bag, filled with info. She and her staff are extremely dedicated. Her products are available in the UK as well as Australia. They have a range of professional waxes for everyone and also offer training courses. Details here Waxxxpress

I’ve also got 3 cartridges free to the first 3 people to email me on

Copper Tree Clinic

Next I met Sarah all the way from Exmouth. She’d driven up that morning from Devon. Now if that’s not dedication, I don’t know what is!

Sarah took a career break to have children and has been back trading now for a year. She’s thrown herself into learning new techniques and refreshing her knowledge. She offers treatments in her home salon and also provides a mobile service.

Hair Removal Expo is an essential date in her calendar. She said that there is now much more competition in Devon, a few years ago there were only 2 local salons. But on the plus side demand has grown hugely.  Waxing and manicures are now seen as essentials rather than luxuries.

One more day to to go on my Hair Expo UK blog marathon. Tomorrow it’s the hot topics of THAT debate!
